20 catamarans turned up at Weston Sailing Club to sail in some very windy and gusty conditions brought on by a cold north easterly wind. The battle at the front of the first race was between Hugh Styles, Luke Yates and Grant Piggott, but with Hugh getting an early lead led to an easy victory. With the wind ever increasing Hugh and Adam showed their expertise in the strong winds winning all three races in the day. Many of the crews breathed a sigh of relief on the Sunday morning because the wind had dropped to around 12 knots. They couldn’t bear another heavy day. The tack ticks changed slightly with the lower wind strength, but Hugh and Adam were still able to win the first two races wrapping up the event. Thanks go to Weston sailing club who put on a very enjoyable event, and we all look forward to going again next year.
